Skål International continues with the webinar series Chapter Recovery Moment with the session, 'Restarting Aviation: How to Fly Safely Again', in collaboration with IATA and conducted by Daniela Otero, CEO of Skål International.
As the COVID-19 crisis spread across the world, we have seen airlines make significant alterations to their business models to adapt to the rapidly changing environment. It is important to understand where safety risk may be introduced into the aviation system, as part of a change management process, to ensure those changes are managed effectively. IATA is working hard to ensure that safety and operational efficiency remain paramount.
For this session we have had the pleasure to count on the collaboration of James Wiltshare, from the External Affairs Department at IATA. Daniela Otero, CEO of Skål International was responsible for directing and conducting the event.

James Wiltshare
James works in the External Affairs Department at IATA where his responsibilities include leading IATA’s work on Fitness to Fly and Managed Border Restrictions as part of the COVID-19 aviation industry restart effort as well as managing IATA’s work on Consumer Protection Issues.
James is an Economist by background has worked for IATA since August 2013 and before moving to the Government Affairs role he was responsible for IATA’s economic analysis of aeropolitical issues around the world to inform and support the industry’s engagements with governments and regulators across a broad range of policy topics.
Prior to joining IATA, James worked for more than 10 years in the UK Transport Ministry across a range of roles and transport modes and led the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s policy analysis immediately before moving to Geneva.
James has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
