December 11, 2025, was truly a night of joy, fun, and camaraderie among Skålleagues from Kuala Lumpur and Penang, their families, friends, and guests, celebrating this sensational Christmas Dinner Event at the magnificent Concorde Hotel in downtown Kuala Lumpur.

A white-and/or red-themed dress code night began with pre-dinner cocktails, serenaded by our solo guitarist, David Mark, who set the Festive mood with his repertoire of Festive tunes and Christmas songs, enjoyed by all!

Everyone brought a toy to the Event as requested, to be placed under the magnificently decorated Christmas tree. What a mammoth collection of toys, led by a pair of super-sized teddy bears, spearheading the haul of toys and presents which will be delivered by the President and his ExCom, to the Lighthouse Children Welfare Home for underprivileged children and orphans. And we, at Skål International Kuala Lumpur, are excitedly looking forward to seeing the smiles on those children’s faces…even more excitedly than the children themselves, who have yet to discover their Christmas surprise!

Christmas is the Season of giving, and we, at Skål International Kuala Lumpur, will always get in on the act of charity and giving…

Lucky draw items were sponsored by our Skålleagues, Auction items sponsored by our newest rookie Rowena Hawkins (formerly transferred to Skål International Kuala Lumpur from Skål International Hong Kong). The proceeds from these sales are designated for the Skål International Florimond Volckaert Fund, the official Skål International solidarity aid fund that assists Skålleagues and their immediate family members.

The Concorde Hotel and its F&B staff outdid themselves by providing a sumptuous buffet spread, whilst fellowship, networking, and general conviviality were ongoing among the attendees. Invariably, the free-flowing wines and spirits contributed significantly to boost the overall atmosphere of lightheartedness and, above all, fun!

It goes without saying that President Mahendran Daniel and his exceptional Organising Team of ExCom members, along with their hardworking elves, deserve the ‘bestest’ “thank you” for virtually putting the entire Occasion together seamlessly, and coaxing donors and securing sponsorships for all the goodies, freebies & wines for the Lucky Draw prizes and Auction items.

The night was indeed made extra special by the attendees who transformed themselves into urban Santas & Santarinas.
